Title: Air Leak Detection Procedure
Post by: John Morales on April 08, 2019, 01:40:13 pm
What is the procedure for checking for air leaks on our coach?  Do we do it with the coach running and in travel mode?  What is the best solution to spray on all of the connections and air bags?

John,

Engine does not need to be running to check most of the components.  Run it long enough for dryer to purge (system achieve cut-out PSI).  Turn it off.  Easier to hear massive air leak.

Engine will have to be running to check for issues with air dryer (actually anything "upstream" of the wet tank.

Yes, checking in travel mode is good, but you may also want to check in level mode (really depends on what is leaking).

Kiddie soap bubbles work well.  A good idea to rinse after applying-- I use a second spray bottle with just water in it.

Be sure to use safety stands when going under there!
