Title: NC or SC Foretravel Units To See
Post by: coastalbuilder on April 16, 2019, 11:08:43 am
Good morning.  Are there any members around Eastern NC or SC?  We live in Shallotte, NC (near Ocean Isle Beach).  We are thinking of getting an older Foretravel and before we make the trip to TX we wanted to touch one up close.  We have had about every type of RV and have just finished a renovation on a 1997 Winnebago.  Just looking for something with a stronger engine and more solid construction.  Thank you in advance.

Unless someone is near you would consider meeting some members in Florida,as to the engines,an 8.3 Cummins 300 hp in a
Foretravel is the same as one in a Winnie except radiator placement and hyd. fan may be different. Many members are one time
Monaco Signature owners and they made the change.

We live in Hartwell, GA and have a 96 U295 that has FBP and renewed interior (carpet, tile, upholstery, etc.). We are about 340 miles west of you. There is a 1995 GV Cat powered up near Landrum, SC outside of a Greenville. For planning purposes.

Hi, I am in the same boat. I had a '93 Itasca (Winnebago) for 12 years and kept it fixed and running. I had to sell it 4 years back once the kids went to college, but now the last kid is graduating in a few weeks. Yeah!

I've been a coach-less member of this forum for many years and have been guzzling the Kool-Aid regarding the quality of Foretravel. Up until a few months ago and the fact that I live in Pennsylvania, I've never seen one.

Thanks to the generosity of the members here, I got to see one in that was stored only 5-10 minutes away (A big thanks to Eric). That was a treat.

First impressions, It was very normal-looking. No glitz and bling. At a distance, it was very much like a Winnebago to the uneducated eye. Don't expect to be Wow'd if you haven't researched them. I definitely was impressed, because I had an appreciation of what I was looking at. My appreciation was also based on my ownership of a Winnebago for so long. Foretravel is a very different animal and in a good way.

I Will own one and soon. Good luck on your Foretravel hunting.

Wow, you folks are awesome.  Let me map a few of those and look at schedules.  We are mainly looking at 1998 to 2004ish 270, 295 or 320 in the 36-foot range.  At the same time, I will be digesting the wealth of info here.  Thank you again.
