Title: Proper Procedure?

What is the proper procedure with slides?  Level first and then extend slides?  Or, extend slides and the level?

Larry, what year is your coach?

Level first, open slide, level again as needed.we normally leave the coach just slightly off level to the slide side, any moisture on the slide tends to drain off.

If you have a 2001 or older the yellow light coming on is just on a timer.  Get in the habit of looking at the upper front and rear corners from the inside before moving the slide.  You should see a 1/4" or so of clearance between the slide and the deflated bladder.  If you do not see the light do not move the slide in or out.  You should never hear a squealing noise.  If you do you are dragging the bladder on the slide, a sure way to damage it.

We may have one of the oldest original slide bladders on the forum, 18+ years on the original bladder.  Take good care of yours, they are pricey to replace.
