I'm in the process of installing a new rear-view camera. I was able to run the cable from back to front with no problem. The monitor is installed on the dash and its time to place the camera. But where is the best place to put it? It is a Voyager (VCMS 20B, 145D/109H/93V) camera from Tim at RVCams. At this point, the camera is independent of the Javalina system. I want to, if possible, to see both the towed vehicle and some of the traffic behind us so I don't want it angled down too much.
Pics would be great. Send them to my email if you have trouble attaching them (gmhatfield100@gmail.com).
Thanks in advance,
George
Here is the way I did it
What did you do to your coach today VII (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=33153.msg349318#msg349318)
I did the same as craneman and I can see my jeep as well as a long way behind the jeep.
What you are able to see depends a lot on the camera's "field of view". Some are better than others at seeing the BIG picture.
I was able to mount it just below the old camera. See the attached. Amazing field of view. The road is one lane of the parkway leading from our neighborhood in Tucson.

Nice install George. Hope my suggestions helped.
See you down the road. Ric
George, when we got our coach, we noted that the built in camera does not look out over tow car to act as a rear view.
We attached with plastic cable ties a 2nd camera to the top center of the roof rack looking back. Camera cable runs down the short distance to the air intake vent, and then runs to the dash.
On the dash we have a simple small double-throw switch that chooses between the oem & new 2nd camera. We mainly use the 2nd camera with its better driving view, but at any time we can use switch to look down on tow car.
