Title: replacement condenser fan motors
Post by: FourTravelers on May 05, 2019, 08:28:00 pm
Thought that I would share this info:
Both of my condenser fans failed recently, not sure when because I can't hear them while driving and it wasn't until I checked the AC out last weekend in prep for our upcoming trip.
I was tempted to do as Chuck suggested and replace the front "push" fans with rear mounted "pullers" and increase the size from 10" to 12 or 14 inch. But....... I decided to keep the original setup and just replace the fan motors and keep all else "original". I don't mind making some modifications to the original if they make a noticeable improvement but I would prefer it to still "look original" yep.........some would call it OCD I suppose.

I found the exact replacement for my motors at American Volt, upgraded to the 90 watt motor and because there are two and the relay for the both of them was only rated at 167 watts, I changed it out to a new 30 amp also from American Volt.
