While researching for a potential purchase, I found the following NHTSA recall. Have any of you had your coach inspected as a result of this recall? When? Any repairs? Problems? If so, did the repair "hold"? We are interested in a coach that should've been included in this recall. The owner has no knowledge of this recall (or the other 3 recalls for its year & model which are minor).

FORETRAVEL MOTORCOACH (FORETRAVEL) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007-2010 PHENIX AND 2007-2011 NIMBUS RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH SE-GI WINDOWS. THE ADHESIVE BOND ON SOME PANELS BETWEEN THE GLASS PORTION AND THE HINGE MAY DE-BOND, ALLOWING THE PANEL TO DETACH AND FALL FROM THE VEHICLE.
Remedy
FORETRAVEL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND IS WORKING WITH SE-GI PRODUCTS TO DEVELOP REMEDY INSTRUCTIONS AND OBTAIN PARTS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 21, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORETRAVEL MOTORCOACH, INC. AT 1-800-547-0712.
My coach has the SE-GI windows. The bottom part of the window opens for air ventilation. This bottom portion is "glued" onto the hinge and the "glue/adhesive" Se-Gi used back in the affected recall years failed over time. One of mine was about to fall off but I noticed before it happened. Can cause a nasty accident if it falls off at highway speeds.
FOT replaced all of the bottom glass under the recall years ago on mine. They have been fine since.
If you are considering a coach with these windows, you definitely need to get the recalled portion replaced.
THANK YOU! Because of what you recommended, we called MOT this morning and spoke with James. Got an estimate to replace all of the windows on the coach we are interested in. (It's a long story but basically, we had been previously told we may not be able to get the windows replaced under the recall since so much time had passed...and the company had gone out of business. The dealership called us this morning. We had told him last week about the recall and sent info on how to check the windows. He checked and said that one of the windows is definitely coming loose and a couple of others are showing signs.) We are satisfied/happy with what James said. It was an enlightening conversation. MOT said they can change the windows to a different brand if someone is interested. They measure the windows and get replacements made. :D So it's good to know that your repair is "holding" (if we can get the FT recall replacement windows) and that we have options if we want to have a different brand installed without structural changes/save us $$$$$.
BTW...In late March, we had been in NAC. Asked someone at FT, who should know how to replace the windows, what it would take to replace the windows on a coach we were interested in at FT. He basically said it would be very expensive because they would have to do structural work. He didn't give us much hope. We passed on the coach. Because of our conversation with him and reading many things about the recall, we are very happy that we called MOT.

I had a rear window vent (lower portion of window) fall out while driving. FOT had a replacement for the lower opening window and I glued it back myself. The Metal clip that holds the window closed was not included so I made my own. Since then the crank does not close the window, plus they are fogged. I ordered two new windows from Motion Windows in Vancouver, WA (this company is making the windows for the IC-37). The new windows are sliders. Price with crating and shipping is approximately $500/window. I replace all my windows in a 2007 Alpine, including a 10' window and was very satisfied with them.
I have owned two rvs with dual pane replacement windows from Motion in Vancouver, Washington. They are exceptionally good. They will ship or they also do installs. One of the rvs had solar reflective glass and I looked that during the day no one could see in.
