Some of you may remember in November 2016 I posted about my AquaHot tank leaking and faced with a $6,000 plus bill to replace the tank and still have a 20 year old AquaHot I elected to replace it with the larger 85,000 btu Oasis NE-S.
Today the Oasis has 10,636 hours on the meter, Other than a failed hot water relay within 30 days of install I have not touched the unit.. With 10,000 plus hours runtime I think maybe it's time to service the burner!!!
How difficult was the install? did you add the engine pre-heat option?
Interesting different technology. Dual 1500 watt 10,000 btu auxiliary heating units. 85k btu output to run two showers.
Matches the newer big coaches well.
The aquahot has std engine loop. Three zones in it allow the basement and bath to turn on without the other zones receiving flow.
Like I said the oasis matches most current coaches use.
Bigger interior with multiple slides. 50 amp service. Non severe winter use so the basement loop is not as important.
Most new coaches would not be my choice for a winter use.
Overkill for a well insulated overall U320 without slides.
10k hours? Do you ever turn it off
10,636 hours is 1.21 years running 24/7. Yikes. That coach must be parked in Barrow, Alaska.
Sig. says full timing, Nov. 2016 was 2 1/2 years ago he must have shut it off at times. I'm sure the hour meter is when the switch is on not when the burner is.
Did a search on the ole interweb for this system. Seems one needs a top secret clearance to find the MSRP. Anyone know?
Oasis NE-S Heater # 39400 - J-Way Enterprises (http://www.mcssl.com/store/j-wayenterprises/hurricane-heaters/oasis-ne-s-heater-39400)
Unit is lighter as 142 pounds dry versus the three zone aquahot at 200 dry,
Looks like $4500 to $9000 depending on model. Look toward the bottom of the page: HEATERS - J-Way Enterprises (http://www.mcssl.com/store/j-wayenterprises/hurricane-heaters/heaters)

I am in the unit just under 6 grand after selling the good parts off the old Aqua Hot..... The Oasis was $7,900 installed including tax. The install was done by ITR (Oasis) Vancouver WA and took just over a day. It would of been under a day but the 2 man crew had a hard time getting the rear AquaHot mounting bolts out.
I full time, remember the unit is also making all the hot water. The hour meter runs when the electric or diesel is running. the hour meter does not run when the unit is on and in standby.
One thing I forgot to add. The Oasis is controlled by a WiFi enabled touchpad. At first I thought no big deal... but it is nice to turn the unit on/off from anyplace my phone has service.
Does your Dometic thermostat setup work with it ok?
Bob, Yes all the original thermostat wiring worked.
Thanks for the cost breakdown Ted.
3 years ago I had my AH rebuilt at a cost of approx. $8K. Wish I had known about ITR as I'm in Walla Walla just a 3 hour drive from them. No matter, My AH should be good for quite a few years.
Ted,
Was you AH mounted in the belly of the whale and did you mount the Oasis in the same location.
John M.
Yes John it is mounted in the same center location...
