Title: Toilet model number
Post by: "Irish" on May 19, 2019, 03:07:16 pm
Got s SeaLand toilet in our 99 U270, the folder has No documentation about the toilet, I can find no model number etc. It appears it may now be a Dometic??
Here is a photo of it with the plastic shroud removed

Thanks
David

To me it looks like the model 511.  Check out the attached manual.  It has drawings and dimensions of their toilets.

John, thanks
I think that is the right manual
I really appreciate you sending the link
Printed it out, looks like I have a leaking vacuum breaker.

I had to replace the vacuum breaker on mine also.  I did a complete overhaul and clean up of mine.  Changed all of the gaskets, seals and ball flap.

Our write-up may help:

Dometic Sealand Traveler 511+ short base toilet (http://beamalarm.com/Documents/dometic_sealand_traveler_511_short_base_toilet.html)

There are two incompatible vacuum breakers and replacing may require removing toilet to get hand-access between toilet and wall behind.

Took it all apart this evening, vacuum breaker leaking , the base seal at the connection to the sewer pipe had to be original and had a small leak, all apart, going to replace everything except the flush, better take photos of the parts
thanks for the info

Mine is a 511 also.  Advice from "2starplumber"...  make sure that ring is tight enough and that the two-piece clamp is aligned correctly with the "bump" in the back.

The toilet is a "Dometic SeaLand511 Short Base" in the model years around 1999
it uses all the same parts as the Traveler 500 Plus series
except if it has a vacuum breaker with a hand sprayer that when removed has an added extension piece of pipe ,
the Vacuum part number is 385230325 and NOT the newer part 385230335
like wise the two part seal for the flush with the holes is part number 385316140 and not the replacements without the holes as shown on most parts lists for the 511 model
Environmental Marine in Florida has all the parts if you want one stop shopping
