While driving the coach back to storage the stop engine light came on. All gauges reading normal, 45 psi oil, water temp 180. Seemed to run fine. Pulled over and checked for leaks, smoke anything but all was good. Drove fine the 20 miles to storage. Just prior to this, I added $100 worth of fuel, took me from shy of 1/2 tank to 3/4 tank.
I've searched the forum and seems like some sensors, ground connections and bad fuel filters were mentioned. I just replaced the fuel filter with the new Racor filter system and the fuel in the glass bowl looked fine. On most of the results from search, I didn't find the final results from what others have come across. If you have knowledge on this I would appreciate your insights. 10 days left till a 1500 mile trip and I have to work 6 of them, so I am getting nervous.

Coolant level OK?
There was water covering the sight glass when the engine was running. I hope to go down tomorrow night (storms allowing) and check it once it has cooled down. I checked it 2 weeks ago when I changed the fuel system and it was up to the cap. I didn't think to look at the overflow tank.

Had a similar issue. When I pulled the codes it said it was the low coolant sensor. Since the coolant level was fine I bypassed the sensor to get home. But it went off again with the sensor bypassed. While checking wires and connections I noticed a loose ground connection. After tightening it up it's been fine ever since.
We had a similar issue with water sensor so I undid it and quickly pulled it out of tank and gave it to Ruth to clean with a rag and clean water. Installed it back in and never had an issue with it again in 4 yrs. It did have some cruddy residue on it so think it was not sensing properly. Worth a try but have someone with you to put their thumb over fitting so not to loose coolant, or you do that and let them clean. Careful not to break it as I think it is ceramic.

So, back in December, while on our way out west, from PA, I got that light, as well! It scared me, but all Indications were normal, but a "Stop Engine" light has more bearing to me, than a "Check Engine Light! I limped it to the nearest Cummins dealer, after I called the Cummins Hot Line! It's a free service that all Cummins Owners can access, for completely free assistance, I loved that! Did I mention that it's Free??? LOL
There are two switches under your dash, that you can mash and get the Flash codes, on you dash, to do an initial troubleshoot, with! Many posts on here deal with that! Anyway, with that number, you call them up, and they can go through any further procedure if needed. I had a Bad sensor, and when I went to a Cummins Dealer had them fix that (I thought) and also replaced ALL Sensors, and give me the OLD sensors to just have for troubleshooting in the future! 2 Coach bucks, I was back and happy on the road west! It came on, 2 times briefly since, but now less concerned, but just may revisit the GROUNDS, as well? Thanks!
You guys really know how to make me breath easier and sleep better. This sounds simple and I hope it is correct. What I am thinking is that I positioned my new fuel filter directly in front of the sensor (I'm assuming that is the electric probe sticking out the side of the black tank) and I might have done something to the wires. Should be an easy fix. The filter comes off with 2 bolts and I can check the sensor. Was hoping to do that tonight, but the storms have started and are to continue for the next 24 hrs.

OK, went to get the coach from storage. Before starting, checked the coolant level. Perfect. Jiggled the sensor wires. Seemed tight. Started engine & drove to the house. No stop engine light. Will check the sensor connector for corrosion/ looseness.

There is also the oil sensor on the engine that can go bad, check for corrosion. If the check engine light comes on or you hear beeping, could be the oil sensor, worth a look.
