We had our coach and towed weighed today. See the attached. The front axle was on the most forward scale, the back axle on the next and the Jeep on the next. The coach was full of fuel and we had about half a tank of water and 1/4 tank of black and gray waste. And the coach is loaded for our annual migration north (heavy for us). So are these conclusions correct?
1. We are under the max weight for the front and rear axles
Front 10420 max 13000
back 17940 max 20000
2. The total weight (GCWR) with the Jeep is also below the max
Total 33840, max 43000
3. The tire inflation pressures should be:
Front (H) should be at a minimum 85psi. I have them inflated to 110 for the maximum load (13000)
Rear (G) should be at a minimum 80psi. I have them at 90 for the maximum load (20000)
Note the recommended inflation pressures on the plate are 108 front and 89 rear.
So should I change the inflation pressures to more closely match our weight? Anything else to be gleaned from these data? And yes, I know about corner weights. Thanks in advance.
Where is your allowance for side to side coach weight being equal? And do you plan to add a safety margin with extra PSI to stay safe when tire pressure drops from cold temps, higher altitude and side loads from turning?
Based on actual axle weights (which ASSUMES perfect left/right weight distribution), I would add a fudge factor to the recommended minimums and run 95 front/90 rear.
You really think he would have a 1,400 lb difference between left and right on the rear axle?
