I am going to replace the air conditioner shrouds with new ones from Icon Direct.
They have a option to get them with Driver Side Venting, my current ones don't have venting in the sides.
Would the driver's side venting be advantageous?
Steve,
Best answer is to remove the current one and see if there are condenser coils in that area that would benefit from air flow. If not, it would be a NEGATIVE, as it would allow air to bypass the condenser.
Thanks Brett
The condenser coils are on the rear side, I can see just the bottom of them and I need to get a comb to straighten them back up some.
I believe the ones with vents on the side are for heatpumps, as I remember when replacing mine 2 yrs ago from Camping World. Happy with the ones I bought with no vents.
I replaced both of ours with the icon units. At the time when I researched it, the literature indicated that the vents on the side were only necessary for 15,000 BT units with heat pumps. Our coach has 13,500 BTU units with heat pumps so I got the ones without the vents on the side. The OEM units were likewise without vents on the side.

Both of my A/C's are 13500 BTU with 1530 watt heaters. so if not Heat Pumps I guess I will skip the one with vents.
Don did you have to add the foam to the inside?
I used contact adhesive spray to glue some thin foam that is normally put between expansion joints on concrete slabs to line the sheet metal plenum. The old thin styrofoam that was originally there had deteriorated. I believe it's only function is to prevent condensation from forming and dripping down the plenum into the coach.
