Title: Unidentified Loose Wire
Post by: defendertx on May 28, 2019, 10:24:05 am
Howdy everyone!

Over the weekend, I was doing some work on my 1994 U280, and happened to look underneath the chassis near the front of the coach and discovered a loose wire.  I'm very new to this vehicle, so I have no idea what it is (picture enclosed).  Do any of the more experienced members of this forum happen to know what this is?

Thanks!

Mark

No, sorry I personally do not, but with the waterproof connector I would thing that finding the connecting part should be fairly easy as it is not like a single wire issue.
Take a good look all over the areas were this could go due to its length.

Just enlarged that picture and looks like it actually screws onto a mating part rather than push on like I thought.

Buy an inexpensive signal tracer/injector. It's pretty easy to find the other end this way. $20 variety does the job nicely. Amazon.com: signal tracer for electrical circuit (https://www.amazon.com/s?k=signal+tracer+for+electrical+circuit&crid=1M0RVZ24HVFR&sprefix=signal+tracer+%2Caps%2C197&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_14)

Maybe you could look at the number on the wire and reference it on your wiring schematics.

Are you sure it is an electrical cable,  the nut looks like it could be an air line.  Cannot tell from the photo if there are electrical pins or sockets for pins.
