So my turn in the generator barrel. The generator motor starts and runs just fine.
The 110v cooling fan comes on and operates for just about a minute and half then shuts off. Shut the generator off restart same deal. The generator does not transfer power to the coach no matter how long it runs.
I originally thought the 5 amp exciter breaker was bad, jumped it with a fused jumper no change. Which is what Jeff at power tech suggested.
Anyone got any ideas before I dump my wallet on it. Or does anyone know a good generator service in western NY.
I replaced the seemingly good main beakers and the fan breaker. Zero issues since then.
Corroded contacts heat over time? Reattaching them?
Check for power at the breakers. Maybe your regulator is bad. Jeff at Power Tech should be able to walk you through any test procedures.

Here are some Marathon Pancake trouble shooting guide. Hope they help.

When mine went out I had no fan at all. Only 5 volts at fan and transfer switch. When I pulled the end off the unit the Exciter Stator and rotor had made contact. After Ohming out the Stator I got nothing. The end bearing was not noticeably bad, but did have a tight spot. Replaced the Stator and bearing and that fixed it. There is a great troubleshooting guide on Beamalarm.

Good luck!
I'll give Jeff another call in the morning. As I said the cooling fan runs for about 2 minutes the stops. That tells me the generator is capable of making 120 volts. I did check all the connections on the breakers and in the control box this afternoon. As we are fulltime kind of hard to tear anything down for any length of time.
After talking with Jeff at Powertech, he's thinking a short somewhere. So got an appointment with Snyder Bros in Emlinton Pa Monday. We'll see.
See my post about my 120v cable shorting out exiting the control box. Remove the bottom splash panel, crawl in behind the generator and look up.
I'll give it a look but it's not tripping the main breaker. I need to pull it out anyway to check the belt.
Not a solution to your problem but when I redid my gen.we found some wires ready to become loose, replaced the rubber mounts
and that made a big difference especially when starting up.
