Title: Remodel in Mexico?
Post by: rondryden on June 08, 2019, 06:19:14 pm
Does anyone have experience in remodeling in Mexico?  Exterior paint, fiberglass repair? Quality? Prices? Location?

Lots of threads on the forum about that. In the upper right hand corner of the forum page just type that in the search bar.

Glen on the forum has had work done by Chuy and may weigh in in the paint work and quality.
I received a quote while in MX from Chuy and decided to pass. Was considering painting the front cap. May get it done at Xtreme after AK trip next summer

Chuy does a lot of work In Puerto Penasco. I had some work done, by him, and was not unhappy with his work. His prices are very reasonable, but I would be sure both parties understand the scope of the work agreed upon, as he and I had a minor misunderstanding.....and I thought I spoke enough Spanish to make myself clear. You CANNOT compare him to Extreme. They are top of the line when it comes to that type of work. I watched Chuy repaint an entire motorhome in the corner of the parking lot. That is work done outside, with wind, etc. I also watched his men repair the front of a motorhome that someone ran into in the parking lot. When it was done, you couldn't tell it was a repair. I had watched him repaint a trailer's stripes. They were all curves. His man took at least two days masking off the curves. Came out real nice. There are also other trades down there to repair your coach. You can't get that work done for that amount of money in the states....no way. Go for it.

All levels of work to be found. At a small airport in Chapala, they were building and painting RVs (the airplane) and did a perfect job with Emron. Several of our airlines use Monterrey, MX for all their paint plus maintenance so you just have to do your research. Several paint shops in Algodones, MX have inside painting. See their work on YouTube.

Have to use distilled water or everything will have a white look that won't easily come off.

There is a much better painter in Playa Bonita Puerto Penasco than Chuy now.
