Just how is/was my fuel tank vented?
Vented fuel caps or a tank vent?
My caps are unvented, but may not be original.
If the tank itself is vented, is there a valve or direct? And vented to where?
In chasing diesel fumes, and this may be the cause.
Tom,
Don't know about your 2003, but on earlier coaches, the vent comes out on the passenger's side of the front bulkhead. Look in behind the right front tire for any sign of leakage.
This is all is see. Is that the vent outlet or a clod? I see no streaks of diesel.
It's only a clod. It came off.
I see no signs of fuel streaks, and cannot see the vent outlet.
Tom,
Hopefully someone with an '03 can help with vent location.
Tom,
Your vent line should be hid behind the angle iron piece that is in your pic. if your fuel tank is in the bay right behind the bulkhead that you show. If there you may have to crawl under there just to see it from the side. If you look from the front of the coach you may be able to see the hose if you are lucky. You should have a check valve in the top of your tank that will let air pass but not fuel. This check valve is there to prevent a large spill incase the coach ends up on it's lid.
If your fuel tank is one that is midship (these are there for better axle weights) the vent hose goes out the back bulkhead.
