Title: headlights, Type
Post by: Mr B3 on June 27, 2019, 06:18:08 pm
Hi All,
I tried the search function, But could not get the info I need,
What type of headlights are in the 1989 Grandvilla, ORED.  As in H7 Etc,
I would like to change the Halogen Globes to Leds,

Thanks, Brian,

HB1 9004 65/45W is the standard bulb in the Ford Bronco headlight.  That link I sent you about removing your lights had a photo (see below).

I run Hella 100/80W bulbs in our coach.  They are noticeably brighter.

Amazon.com: HELLA 9004 100/80W High Wattage Bulb, 12V: Automotive (https://www.amazon.com/HELLA-9004-100-80W-Wattage/dp/B00IKM3DGI/ref=dp_ob_title_auto)

The OEM Ford plastic headlight lens is not very effective.  LED bulbs may or may not be an improvement.  Worth a try!

Thanks for that, HB1, High and low beams in one,

I changed my Hid lights in my bike to Leds, The difference was amazing, The Leds kill the Halogen and Hid lights for brightness,
I tried two sided leads then 4 sided Leds,  It was all trial and error, The 4 sided ones take out the black spot in the middle that the two sided leds had,
I will see what they have on Fleabay, com from China,

I roped off all the Hoses in my coach out of the way, and the light went back in very easy, Getting it out was horrendous,
Hopefully the stiffeners and braces work and the front caps are now solid and not moving,  I need a test drive to find out,

I swapped my driving lights to 5 inch Leds as my spot lights were broken, These were $15-00 USD each delivered,
With low and high beam on, Halogen, Standard coach lights, This was the difference,
1/  Low Beam,
2/  High beam,
3/  Led Driving lights, As you can see, the light output is amazing,
4/  They fit in the hole the original driving lights came out of,

Had a quick sqizz at ebay for new Led lights,

$24-00 a Pair from China, Delivered, Fleabay,com

HB1 9004, 4 sided Leds. White Light, 6000k, Plug and play, Fit straight into the existing holes, 300,000 Lumens,
High and low beam combined,  Dont get hot and use less power than Halogen,
Low beam has a level bar across it so you dont blind oncoming traffic,

These little Beautys will light up the road for me,

Slight thread drift:
Before my right front stupident, I had gone to SAMS CLUB to have the OEM Ford headlamp lenses polished.  They did an excellent job.  Made them crystal clear.  inexpensive and way better than DIY because they apply a UV cured clear coat following the polishing.  Turned out to be a waste because I later had Xtreme Paint & Graphics reconfigure the front end with small round Hella lamps.
