Well I've checked what I believe to be the obvious stuff but my rear A/C won't kick on. No fan or anything...hmm

You could list what you have checked, and someone here might suggest something you have missed?

I believe there is a fuse on the board.. accessed from the top... Depending on the model I would check the thermostat/ Breaker .. make sure its getting power to the ac

I checked breakers and power too the unit. I believe it must be fan motor as it started to smell and I pulled power to it via the breaker so not to burn anything up.

There are some capacitors and other stuff that you access by removing the outer cover up on the roof.  If you will tell us exactly what A/C unit you have, a member here can probably provide specific info on what to check in that area.

When you say "to the unit", does that mean you checked at the junction box inside the unit for power?
Are the power connections secure and tight?
I had a similar issue last year and somehow one of the wire nuts backed off enough to cut power to the AC.

Flip the breakers off then on.

Remove the inside cover/grill, reach up and try rotate the fan. If the rotor is locked, there's your problem.

If the fan motor will turn freely with power off and it getting warm with power on, you have a bad start capacitor.  Replace both the start and run capacitors.
