Title: Output speed sensor
Post by: Tharris48 on July 19, 2019, 02:51:07 pm
So yesterday after experiencing loss of cruise control and speedometer and power we were stuck on the side of I-81 80 miles east of Knoxville.  We were put in touch with Clarke Power Services (Knoxville) and spoke with BJ who was able to help us diagnose our problem, the output speed sensor on the transmission.  They did not have the part in stock but got it to their shop less than 24 hours later.  We were able to limp to a real nice KOA at Baileyton and spent the night there waiting for the part to come in.  Clarke staff was very helpful and we recommend them if you need any assistance with your Allison transmission.

Assume you were able to diagnose it from the driver's seat using the Allison shift pad to check for diagnostic code(s).

Yes we used the codes and what a great tool to help pinpoint our problem, now at our campsite at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma TN 🤗

Ours and our kids coaches both ran and shifted fine but had an error (ding ding ding ding) for a few hundred miles for erratic speed changes.  New speed sensor fixed them both.
