Title: 1996 8.3cummins water pump plastic blades?

Hi all,
Original 1996 made in england water pump leaking from weep hole. Picked up this new cummins water pump from SLC sales/service.
$189 plus 3 new cap bolts. Should I be concerned withthe new design with plastic impeller,instead of metal?
The new weep hole is  behind flange ,and looks like new body design. Original had 151k miles.

They still make one like the original.

I for one................ would not use one with a plastic impeller unless there was no other choice.
bought ours from US Motor Works ......... part #3802081, steel impeller.

Don't know about the plastic impeller. However Cummins must think its ok.

Thanks for your replies. I've decided to install the Recommended Cummins pump for my engine number. New one is also made in England  like my original. Hoping 1 year warranty is way longer.  Lol

Probably better then China.
