Was in Montrose CO. visiting my brother on our trip. A Newmar came into the Elks Lodge we were staying at that had had an unfortunate encounter with a deer. Deer lost but Newmar took a serious punch to right front fender area. All commiserated with him and he was off to the insurance man. On returning to our rig, brother noticed the two tow points up front that connect with the frame. He suggested that I get a " roo bar" , crash bumper made too hook into them. Everyone has seen them on trucks. They look like cattle guards. And yes, like the ones on trucks in the Mad Max movies. He is a welder by trade and said it would be a piece of cake. Love the look more than anything, but fiberglass and parts for my rig are getting rare. Anyone seen it done? What do you other Grand Villa owners think?
Not a bad idea especially if you travel a lot in states with high deer and elk populations. I have been really lucky several times while traveling and living in CO.

There has been a pic. posted by one of our members of one before, I just haven't been able to find it this A/M.
Here you go finally found it. Front Receiver hitches on 94 GV U240 (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=31594.msg279246#msg279246)

I say DWMYH. If you would feel more secure using such a device, then go for it. If it is sturdy enough to offer real protection, then it's not gonna be pretty. The design would have to be carefully thought out...last thing you want is to have the unfortunate "road kill" tossed up and into your windshield. I suppose painting it white would make it visually less conspicuous, at least from a distance.
I'd incorporate a cooler carrier on it also so cold beers are readily available! ^.^d
I can just see it,
Some of those PU trucks in Texas with these things have to put helper springs or airbags up front to hold the weight.
I built my scooter rack to fit those plugs. Ugly but holds the scoot and adds some hard points in front of the expensive stuff.
We don't have those receiver hitch options on the front of our coach. But if I did I'd be tempted to put a round 3 inch steel bar up there. The first thing that happened to our coachable and taking it home when we bought it we parked way out in the parking lot away from everyone and when we came back there was a few motorhomes parked around that we're rentals and there was a brand new scratch on the front bumper not a big thing but it was brand new to us that bar would've prevented it.
