Title: A little fiber glass work.
Post by: Andy 2 on August 15, 2019, 04:46:29 pm
A while back i noticed a crack in the fiber glass on the roof of our Grand Villa tried the eterbond tape drilled the hole at the end and it kept moving over the edge of the seam.
So I decided to try may hand at fiberglass.
The first picture is the crack after I opened it up the second picture was my first attempt and got a little heavy on the resin. So I cut out the old and got some advice from a couple of pros on the boards and re did it.
Third picture is ready for paint and the last one is the results.

Looks good now. Did you use epoxy or polyester resin? How many layers of cloth or did you use mat?

Pierce after I cut out the old resin I used mat and did one layer at a time I used polyester resin it took 4 layers of mat to fill in the area I cut out.
I have never done this kind of work before so it was learn as I went. I did have some help from the guys on the fourms that did for a living👍
It may not be perfect but it did the job.
