Title: U300 Brake Rotor
Post by: RandallBrink on August 19, 2019, 04:36:32 pm
I was able to photograph my Brake Rotor part number, but my Brake Service Manual in the coach manual library refers to Rockwell ABS, whereas tge part number looks more like a Meritor number; however, the number is not listed on the Meritor website.

If anyone can confirm the part make, I would definitely appreciate it.

On my GV, the rear brakes were done by a PO back in 07. The part number for mine is 007zz3218k167 from Interstate power systems. I googled it and came up with nothing. I called interstate and talked them out of a new part number with results. It is 3218k167. This is on my 92 U-300.

Randall,

Here is what I found.

First link below is to a Meritor air disc brake catalog.  On page 57 there is a rotor cross reference chart.  About 2/3 way down the chart, you will see a line that starts with "3218 K 167".  Reading across that line, you see "R6086" which is stamped on your rotor, and R6198.

Next link below is to the Meritor Parts Express catalog.  Going to the page with a cross reference search box (upper right corner) I entered R6086.  The search returns "Meritor 3218K167" as a the first match (plus second match is R6198 - not currently available).

https://www.meritorpartsxpress.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchDisplay?categoryId=&storeId=10154&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&sType=SimpleSearch&resultCatEntryType=2&showResultsPage=true&searchSource=Q&pageView=&beginIndex=0&pageSize=12&isRequestComingFromSecondarySearchBar=isRequestComingFromSecondarySearchBar&searchTermScope=101&searchTerm=R6086&searchTermTextBox=R6086#facet:&productBeginIndex:0&facetLimit:&orderBy:&pageView:list&minPrice:&maxPrice:&pageSize:&

SO, I would say the Meritor 3218K167 rotor is what you need.  You could check the actual physical dimensions to be absolutely sure.

PS:  I posted a photo of one of my brake rotors in your other thread on this subject.  I went back and looked at a zoomed-in view of that photo on my computer, and I can now see that the number on my rotor is also 3218 K 167.  What a coincidence!  8)

Thanks to everyone. With this information, I was able to correlate the part numbers down to the 3218K167, and also verified that with Meritor.

And the other good news is—it's not the $3,200 rotor, but the $374 one!!
