Title: Domestic Refrigerator Issue
Post by: dbennett9 on September 01, 2019, 02:22:56 pm
On our new to us 2004 U270, we noticed liquid leaking from the outside refrigerator access panel. When I opened the panel, I found a section of tubing had apparently been removed from a solenoid and was leaking a bluish liquid. Someone tried to close off the line with plastic ties, but not completely. Also, several wires appear to be joined together and wrapped in foil. I am attaching pictures. Can anyone tell me what this disconnected line is for and why someone might have disconnected it? I am just trying to find a starting point to figure this out. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

The disconnected line is the ice maker feed, most likely from a T at the water filter under the sink.  The foil is the heat pad for the ice maker solenoid.  Woody.

Thanks for the info. I just wanted to be sure it isn't anything crucial, and I can't find a schematic that shows it.

Turn off the valve that should be under the kitchen sink
