Just thought I'd share my recent experience with the VMSpc that I purchased from Roger and installed on my 2007 Nimbus 400ISL.
1 - Fuel Guage - I have been trying to get a good sense of my engine fuel guage, example: is it accurate, is it measuring the correct quantities etc. Well after fueling up two weeks ago and resetting my MPG and fuel tank reading on my VMSpc dashboard I went to top off my fuel today and according to VMSpc I would need 14 gallons to top off my 120-gallon tank. Well guess what - I fueld up 13.6 gallons, pretty darn accurate. It offers me peace of mind knowing I don't have to rely on a guage that may fluctuate etc.
2 - Starting Battery - After installing my VMSpc I saw that my engine starting batteries were lower than normal - but based on my analog guage I would have not known that my batteries were going out - until it would have been too late. Well sure enough they looked good voltage wise but were only putting out 600 CCA combined - now I have two new starter batteries and I'm all good to go.
3 - Retarder Temp - After noticing rapid increase in transmission retarder temps on very short interim uses - I became curious. So I took in my coach to get its service completed (Oil, Trans, Cooling system etc.) - after I picked it up I saw an immediate improvement in temperature ranges. I know longer have the temp go into the Yellow on basic retarder applications on small grades.
While all of these examples are not necessarily earth-shattering news - it has made me a more comfortable driver/operator of my coach, as I know exactly what the coaching engine/trans/electrical system is doing at all times and what to watch for and what to not be concerned about. I was reluctant about purchasing the VMSpc because it would just be one more gadget on my dash "dashboard candy" to worry about - not anymore.
Just food for thought - and thought I'd share my experience.

Thanks for the 👍, Pat. VMSpc really does add value to the driving experience. Let me know if you need anything.

I've been using Silverleaf for years (on two coaches) but still continue to learn. I've finally got the cruise status to work (off/on/set) as a simple gauge. I too find the fuel usage system fairly accurate, but of course, it does not account for generator use. For us, that is a minimal error. We usually fill when the Silverleaf fuel total dips below 100 and the coach fuel gauge (with the new sender) reaches about 1/2.
Ditto what each of you said. It is uncanny how accurate the fuel level is when you allow just a little for the generator. Seeing all those temps and pressures in digital format in letters large enough for old eyes to see without straining is remarkable. After several years with Silverleaf on two coaches I never want to be without it.
I just brought our kids 2000 U320 (the Omel coach) back to Oklahoma for the winter. (They are working in Virginia and didn't want it sitting outside.). There was an issue with the fan controller that I spotted immediately thanks to their VMS PC. Pulled over and unplugged it and kept on going.
