This morning, in getting ready to go, when I retracted the LR slide, it came in fine and thought all was well. Put the level panel in travel mode, but the Level System light and chime now will not go off. Also the whole Level panel now will not function. No matter what buttons I push, it stay in travel mode. The slide has also quit working. Turn the slide key, yellow light comes on, I can see the bladder deflate, but slide will not move. Any suggestions .
Mark, on your 2001 there will be a box about the size of a cake pan on the ceiling of the main bay, drivers side. Take the cover off and in one corner there will be a toggle switch that over rides the lockouts so you can go. There is a smaller box with lights on it to indicate the status of the pin locks. This will probably give you an idea about what is going on.
It is possible that the cables on the back sides of one or the other panels has come loose. Remove the corner screws and pull the panels up and check cable plugs.
Roger, thank you very much for the response. There are four indicator lights that are all lit yellow under the unlocked wording .
Found the switch, still the same regardless of which way the switch is. The entire HWH level panel seems dead. Green travel light is on, but nothing else on that panel works.
With the slide in you can look along the top and see two locking pins, With the bladder delated a thin spatula or frosting spreader will slip in along the bottom and you will feel the pins if they are down. There are sensors for the pins to twll if they are down.
If the slide is in, pins are verified, and bladder inflated, switch the switch and see if you can go. You should be. All four sensors going out at the same time is very rare. Probably a plug somewhere.
HWH is on I80 about 40 miles west if the Mississippi River. If you are anywhere near, call for a time and pay them a visit.
Try pulling the fuse for a few min and reinstalling it. Needs reset I think.. mine did something similar and took 20 min for it to reset on it own..
The two top pins look like they are not down, I can slide anything between them and the slide.
Dave, thanks, which fuse? There are several 10 amps in the bay panel ?
Roger, yes, the good news is that we're only about 30 miles from HWH. Was just there Thursday and had them check everything out for me. Leaks, operation, etc. The bad news is now slide quit. Hopefully it's just " one of those things" and they can get me in on Monday.
Like I said . Mine reset after about 20 min.. so I never had to look for the fuse.
Salesman switch ? See if it's off.. then go from there
Got it, Thank you Dave. I didn't mean to sound sarcastic, just wasn't sure which fuse. I appreciate any and all help.
I'll try the salesman switch and give it a long rest.
A 2002 system is significantly different from a 2001.
Didnt take it as Sarc... Sorry if you thought that.. No worries
There is a 50,amp,fuse,wire tied in a bundle. Motor check that one to see if,it is blown.
Still stuck, got the slide out and in, but level systems light and chime stuck on.
Any ideas ? 2001 U 295 3601
Call HWH first thing in the morning.
Advise that you are 30 miles away and that they just completed a system check and your room slide pins are not extending. Your coach will not move.
They are very busy in their tech support group. If you are lucky they will connect you to one of the guys.
Are you safe?
Can you stay there for a couple of days?
If you need assistance, there may be a Fofum member close to you.
You may PM me if you would like to chat.
Good Luck. :)
Scott, thank you much. I finally got it going. Thanks to everyone who replied with assistance. This site is amazing.
I was able to get Mike from MOT and we did a few things. Hit reset button in bay, pulled all the fuses and waited a while. Not sure which did it, but it works fine now.
I do have a question though, call me a newby, rookie, or just dumb..........but..........
If when retracting the slide, the slide key is turned off before the red light goes out, would this cause the whole system to quit working? I'm not saying I did that, but I'm not 100% sure that I didn't.
When HWH worked on it last week, they assured me all was good. I do trust their work. Since it started working, I have opened and closed the slide 4 times (taking extra time to insure the red light was out) and all is good.
Thanks again to all for your replies and assistance. Hopefully some day I can return the favor to someone in need.
When Extending or Retracting slides - Always follow the procedure.
This forum is amazing.
Good luck, good travels. :)
If you are uncertain of the state, or might have turned the key switch off too soon, just full cycle the switch again. You can even fully cycle the slide room out and in if needed. All should be as it should be.
Old thread but I've referenced this to fix my problem and thought I'd update for the 2001 slide owners out there.
I'm dry camping at Quartzsite, tried to bring slide in yesterday to go dump tanks and water fill, and couldn't get it to lock in properly to get coach in gear. Tried for a couple hours. Lower bay alert LED showed slide was still out. I've had recurring and increasingly unworkable issues with this slide since MOT did the seal replacement last year. They "adjusted slide so paint markings lined up", and this has thrown the entire slide and sensors out of whack. They would not fix what they broke on a return trip in Feb.
Anyway, in searching for the for the HWH control box with override switch, I finally found the switch and pictures below show the switch and it's location on a 2001 U320. While I had the cover to the "cake pan" off, I used a hole saw to drill a hole over the switch and labeled it so that it could be accessed later if need be. I also put a 1/2 amp aircraft circuit breaker on one of the wires to the dash warning horn to silence it until repairs can be made. HWH warning still displayed on the silverleaf dash, so I've gotta check for a travel light often.
Am calling Foretravel first thing in the morning to see when they can squeeze me in to get the slide fixed proper....I hope.
Woody.
Try switching the room in sensors. They are the little barrel sensors that are held in with a small piece of aluminum
It worked for me a couple times. Sometimes they get out of alignment and if i switch them and line them up pretty close it will allow the room to lock.
