I hope I didn't get misinformed. I wanted to change out the original vent cap on the coach, and asked the forum for advice. I bought the Lippert 360 unit , which was recommended. When I went to install it today, I got put off by the method the existing unit is installed. The base of the existing unit is pretty big, and has about eight screws to the roof. I just don't want to open a " can of worms" just because I wanted a better system. Might be selling it to one of you guys. Any advice?
Very helpful...Thanks, Twig. I'll get on it tomorrow.

I bought the same one.. let us know what you do.. Mine has sat in the garage for a year.. for the same reason.
We used one of these

Works great.
I had a Lipport 360 on another RV, it worked great. Before Lipport bought it, the previous mfg showed comparisons of it beating the others. I also liked its low profile, less likely to snag anything.
Why change it? There's really nothing to go bad on the original.

On my previous RV I was getting tank oder in the rv all the time when driving (I also had a bad flush bowl ball water seal, bowl would not hold water). After replacing with the Lipport 360 this stopped as the previous vent did less to syphon out the tank fumes. I later then changed the the toilet bowl ball water seal.
I bought a Lipport 360 and have not installed the Lipport 360 yet. I do not have any tank issue with fumes.
On the previous rv I remember no issue with installing, I did have to cut off the PVC to a lower height, as it protruded from the roof too far. I. had to reseal around the base, drilling new holes to fit,
as I remember, the instructions were easily followed.
To be fair I do not remember what was the previous vent, I do not remember it being the tee type as on my current FT, I remember it being more circular in shape.
When that tee is removed, you will find a 1 1/2 inch pipe coming out of the hole of the same size. The new product will fit over the pipe and seal appropriately. You should not have any issues with a leak, etc. Just use dicor under the plate and on top of the screws when done.
Yea, I can see where that would cause odor but really, other than that, you just have the air admittance valves. I've always replaced the stock ones with the Sudor valves. I've had the stock ones fail but never the Sudors. My point is just that the system shouldn't need to be modified to avoid the odor issue. However, if I get the problem and can't fix it I'll be checking old posts to see how you installed your new Lipport!

Agree Jor; The one on our coach is behind the cabinet door behind the commode and when I opened the door, found the air admittance valve broken. Replaced with one from Lowe's and good to go. Normally, the little rubber flapper is the culprit with either sticking or warped.
I had a coach one time and the trap on the washer/dryer dried out that let the fumes from the grey tank get in to the coach. Pulled it out of storage and by the time I got home 2 miles away my eyes where burning. We aired out the coach and ran some water through the washer and that took care of it. From then on every time we took it out we ran some water in the washer just in case.
Just got off the roof. Like Joe said, and like the video Twig sent, it was pretty easy. I would get it out of the garage, David. Didn't even have to trim the existing pipe coming through the roof. Hope I can tell if there is a difference.
