Is it normal/ok to have a lot of water collect in the air filter canister? Drove thru a rain storm over snoqualmie pass Washington. The canister slants forward and the drain hole is higher near the back of the canister where the fresh comes down the intake tube so the water and road silt collects at the turbo intake end of the filter. makes me nervous.
Maybe this has been addressed in previous posts, please refer if so.

The engine breathes through the vent slots on each side of your backup camera. So if you are driving in the rain and water is rolling down your roof it is going to get sucked in to the canister. Some have built a visor that goes over that area and takes the water away from the intake slots to keep the water out of the filter. Below is a link to the posting with a picture.

Dale,
Does your filter canister have the duct bill in the drain hole? If not you need to swing by a truck shop and get one and install it.
Mike

article was very good and I am going to get/make a deflector. that make the most sense.

Filtration d'air, d'huile et de liquide industriel et de moteur | Donaldson... (https://shop.donaldson.com/store/en-us/search?Ntt=VACUATOR+VALVE*&Ntk=All&originalSearchTerm=VACUATOR+VALVE*&_requestid=6520295)
Look up this number Donaldson P525956 that is the one that fits ours. Yours could be different so check your air filter can for it's part number. With your filter can number then you can be sure as to which one will work on your coach. All Foretravels don't use the same filter can.
