We have been visiting friends in Wisconsin and are now headed for Asheville, NC to visit our son and his family. Since Moscow, Iowa is on the way (sorta) I called last month and made an appointment for today to have our system checked and any repairs made. They only have six RV sites at their service building (free and electric only, including 50 amp) so we arrived about 2:30pm on Monday. All but one of the sites was vacant. There are three sites on the west end of the service building (in front of a huge propane tank) and three at the east end where we parked. Several coaches arrived after we did and by sundown all the sites were full. There was an unfortunate accident at the west parking area when a coach backed into another doing considerable damage (see pic). A reminder of why I always have Pat back the coach while I direct her from the outside.
The grounds around the HWH service center are pretty primitive. I would hate to be there during the rain since nothing is paved. It is definitely an industrial site. The building in which the service takes place is huge... probably several acres of space. It is filled with various machines and parts. The service area only occupies the south end of the building. There appears to be zero security. They leave the service door open all night and I saw no one around after about 6pm. They did not seem to mind if one walked around parts of the building, but I didn't venture into much of it.
Our appointment was for 7am and by about 7:15am someone came out and drove our coach onto the inspection platform. Brent inspected our coach by first spraying everything down HWH-wise with a soap solution and then checking for leaks. He found a couple on our two air tanks but nothing was leaking in the HWH system. Amazing for a 20-year-old coach. He said the system looked "awesome." Good news for sure. I was able to follow him around during the inspection. Since they only fix leaking HWH components I'll have to have the air tank leaks repaired elsewhere. He also checked the dash control panel and the air pump off the joey bed bay. Definitely worth the visit. We were on our way by about 9:30am.

Ramp doors are up a rise along the side of building. They drive right in and on to the ramp.
We are on the west side awaiting our 7 am appointment. Only 2 sites open when we got here , 1 now I think.
We went to eat at Tipton Family Restaurant- thanks Roger & Susan for the recommendation. Then we went to see the Hoover Presidential Historical site just about 15 miles from HWH- a nice afternoon.
Looking forward to getting check tomorrow .

When we were there Lon took me on a tour of their machine shop. Also got to see the special coach being built inhouse for the owner of HWH.
We spent a night on those yellow ramps several years ago. The plan was to be done in one day, but that didn't happen, and they had things apart, so we stayed there. They brought over a wheeled stair that got pretty close to the door. We had free reign of the place, as the bathrooms were a little distance away. It was a little noisy until midnight, when the last of the second shift left, but by 0600 the early crew was coming in, so not a great place to sleep. Oh yes, all the lights stay on all night.
George we were there two months ago, same RV spot and then on to the ramp at 7. Rebuilt one of the six packs, found air leaks and checked out the rest, $195 - great job!
Off the subject, I see you have the headlight conversion and your stripes look great, we are booked in all over Nag next month for lights stripes and much more, are your stripes done by Xtreme it you one of the first factory painted coaches? They look good.

The graphics are painted on our coach. The work was done by Xtreme, I think in 2011.
There was a charge for our system check... $48!
It looks like they have done some grading around the entrance to the yellow ramp, but almost no pavement and a fair amount of standing water. As we traveled further east into Illinois it started to look much drier than further west.

One very cold snowy December Maggie the dog and I spent the night in their facility. I was going to move outside at closing but they said it's too cold and we already have you plugged in. Just use that door to walk Maggie. It won't be locked.
I asked if there was an emergency number if something went wrong. They said nah. Just call 911 if you need them.
I don't remember a second shift. I was just us in there with all that cool stuff. No other customers around.
We were in the same spot as you last Thursday. Lon and crew were great. Ashley too. Fixed the bay compressor, replaced a couple of solenoids and had us on our way.
Very good service from all. The overnight hookup was a plus. Breakfast as the Tipton Family Restaurant was great.

When we were there on our way south Lon and Ashley and their technicians took great care of us. While we were waiting in their customer lounge I walked around and read the testimonials that people had sent in regarding HWH/Ashley/Lon. Really nice glowing compliments for the service. Especially the one on the wall behind the door that would close off the room Ashley and Lon were in.
Now for the strange part! The couple who sent it in were---NORM and MARY!!!
Felt kind of strange to see our names there as we weren't the ones that sent the letter. This was our first time there ever!
Jokingly told Ashley and Lon that I had sent the letter in ahead of time because we had heard how great the service and employees were.
Been so HWH three times. If it's raining hard be sure you have boots or don't go out. They always do a great job and the visit to the family restaurant is worth the trip. Did see someone back into another but neither were Foretravels. One time they found a brake air leak and called in an outside brake guy to replace a worn hose and tie it all up properly. I paid $175 and was glad they found it. Wouldn't want to get back on I-80 and lose the brakes!
Had our day at HWH- met some folks who were in the next row at Hart Ranch during our rally there. Small world. Good talks with others in the waiting room and even met a couple who lived in the same town in NY that I did many moons ago.
They found my front six pack had some leaks so they fixed those, replaced my key touch pad as it was so worn it had holes in it. They found a few other leaks that they showed me and marked with zip ties. Tested the whole system and it is working good. Got out under $100- yippeee.
HWH is a good place to stop for a check of your system and I suggest scheduling a visit- it is worth it .
