Our water pump is leaking. Foretravel told us that the pump is no longer made and no parts are available for it. FOT suggested we call Go2Marine (at least, I think that's who they recommended). In speaking to this company, they suggested Marco or Jabsco Marine pumps.
Has anyone replace the Shurflo 5900-0201 water pump? If so, with what? Do you like the replacement?
Or does anyone know where we might find parts for the Shurflo 5900-0201? It's leaking around the pump housing ... possibly a gasket. Thanks!

A quick Google search shows that model pump was quite trouble-prone. No doubt discontinued as a result. Definitely consider replacement with a different model rather than repair.
Take it apart and clean then when putting together spread a very thin film of plumbers liquid Teflon on both sides of the gasket. I bet it seals fine as have done it a few times.

Shurflo 5900 5.7 is obsolete with a circuit board in base designed to electrically vary the pump speed. 5900 also had unique hose connectors. Pump is not repairable. During warranty periods, Shurflo replaced 5900 with free 4048, but all are out of warranty now.
Many replace with Shurflo 4048 or 4008. They all work pretty much the same. Change ends on hoses. Consider adding a Shurflo filter. Some have optionally added a small Shurflo plastic accumulator.

Our water pump developed a leak in July. After researching replacements, I decided on the 4048 and it has worked fine for us.
I ordered it from Walmart of all places and it came in a couple of days. It was a very simple install.
