hello all, I have a leak on my parking brake chamber , which I think is causing it not to work its been off the vehicle for a long time , I have had to replace most of the hydraulic hoses, I have contacted a company called mill supply , they can supply me with a new one but going to cost me 700 usd plus postage to uk,. does anyone know of any other suppliers or even a good second hand breakers where I may be able to get hold of one, is it possible to get a repair kit for it? and also failing that would it be possible to convert to the old fashioned handbrake mechanism with cable or will that not be strong enough to engage the brake nice and tight so nothing moves , would appreciate any help on this thank you Kev, ps my Grand villa is built on an Oshkosh chassis
So you have hydraulic brakes and the park brake is on the rear of the transmission applied with spring and released by hydraulic pressure from the power steering pump.
Post a pic . Most of the hydro park brakes default to locked up drive shaft/Parked.
Yes that is correct , I would post a picture of this part from my workshop manual but I can't see a way of uploading pics , don't know how thanks

Mike,
Wonder what the Chevrolet auto park has in common with the Oshkosh version?
I have no idea. The P 30 has a pump that builds pressure and pulls the cable and releases the BA spring. There are lots of failures on the RV forums .
https://www.millsupply.com/img/page/bk_emgfr.jpg Might be Oshkosh
You need to send a pm to nitehawk here on the forum he has a coach like yours.
Hopefully you will get these photos now thanks
FAO protect racing , does this chamber look familiar , thanks kev
I sent the page ,with the original part no. , I'm wondering if it's possible to cross reference this part , you mentioned a Chevy that could be the same , be gratefull if you could find out and let us know , have you got any information on some second hand dealers over there that possibly might have a chamber in stock ?
According to the sizes and stroke . It should be rebuildable . Any hydraulic shop should be able to solve the leak issue . Replace the seals ,chrome the bore , make a new bore. etc. The spring may be under some preload and force the case apart when unbolting the end cap. Be careful .
Baring repairing it , replacing it with similar cylinder with external spring should not be that hard . or expensive .
If it not in place at the current time. take it to a hydraulic shop . IMHO.
Chevy is not the same . They function very similar but the pieces are very different.
There is a fair chance that trucks that are medium weight with juice brakes ,may have a similar setup as yours. Look around for sub 18K trucks that the trans gear would be insufficient for a park brake. Thats is the reason for this setup , the truck is too heavy to park on the trans gear safely and the truck has hydraulic brakes with no air . Europe has lots of this size truck.
