I am getting ready to remove my Kitchen faucet and want to make sure I am going in the right direction before I start.
First I need to remove the hose for the spray arm at the red arrow point that is pointing to the right and the hot and cold water.
Then it looks like a hex fitting at the red arrow pointing down and hope that releases the U shaped clamp outlined in red??

Steve, the nut will need to be removed all the was to let the U clamp drop and you should be able to pull the faucet straight up. Like you mentioned, remove the hot/cold and the sprayer. I removed as much as possible to access this area. You may also find the the nut is frozen from rust. Hopefully, it will snap off with a long extension and some brute strength! lol You can also spray some rust breaker on that area and let it sit before trying to remove.
Thanks Joe, I was hoping by removing the sprayer hose I could get a Deep Socket on it. Then if it does not want to play well I can twist it off with a 18" bar ^.^d
There isn't much room to work with, but anything you can get out of the way is a plus! Hopefully, the nut will come off without much persuasion! lol
Thanks, I guess I will have to wait until i get home, I did not bring any deep sockets or my bar :-(
Have seen an inexpensive "deep socket" to access that nut in the plumbing section of Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
Thanks Brett, I will check it out
I called delta and they sent me a free plastic deepwell socket.
However i purchased a 17mm deep Well for $4 and finished project and replaced with Moen
What size socket is it?
Faucet looks good. Next year project....

If you have a similar 1996 delta faucet like i had, its 17mm deep Well socket.
I will see if I have a 17 mm as mine in a 97 Delta in white
