So how much do you have to spend to enjoy your coffee in the morning. Turns out to be about 3% of a two 8D system. When we dry camp we usually use the gas stove and those Starbuck packets for coffee. However, on this trip we're using our 1500 watt instant pot with the same packets. Three percent hit on those batteries is a small price to pay!

I drink about 6 cups a day. I use a Coleman camp pot to heat 12 cups of water on my gas stove, then pour the water into a Mr. Coffee pot, then pour it through a modified Mr. Coffee basket and filter (with Folgers Classic Roast) back into the Coleman pot.
Then I fill a cup and a Stanley thermos and I'm good for the day, saving what's left in the Coleman pot.
The next day I reheat what's left, fill a cup and put the rest in the thermos. Now I'm good for the 2nd day.
Haven't wasted a drop in 15 years. Hot and black, about $25 a year plus gas.
Last campground I had some neighbors from New Mexico that used on of these on their gas stove:
Camping Coffeemaker | Coleman (https://www.coleman.com/camping-coffeemaker/2000015167.html)
I use my generator and a regular drip pot.
I do not do coffee but Ruth loves a cup of Nespresso coffee first thing. We have 3 of the machines around so not a problem. She also uses the drip type if a larger volume is needed.

After trying percolators on the stovetop, Keurig, and instant, I absolutely must make a pot of fresh brewed coffee every morning in my Capresso grinder/brew machine whether plugged in or on inverter. Uses about 70 amp/hours of battery juice on inverter, or about 9% of my reserve. I can make coffee for a week with no sun or genny. With sun, it's indefinite. It's one of my foibles.
I tried our Starbucks Verismo pod coffee maker in our coach. No go.
It pulses it's heater over a few seconds. Gen loads up the adds throttle for the load then has to throttle back. Voltage swings a lot.
Inverter same thing.
Probably need a hybrid inverter to use this it seems.
Bought a Keurig as it does not pulse and works perfectly in the coach off either shore or inverter.
We do a pour over directly into a themal caraffe. Water is heated in our electric water kettle or use the gas stove to heat water in our regular tea kettle. I like Starbucks Espresso Roast and Morning Joe coffees. Peets decaf French Roast too. Works for us. $1.25 a day.
Call me boring............ ::)
I prefer a percolator on a gas burner and some Folgers Classic roast.
We do the the Sam's Organic Sumatran Dark Roast Coffee. We heat up the water on the stove or in a electric kettle, then we use a Double-Wall Stainless Steel French Press to seep and strain the coffee. French press makes 8 cups and keeps warm for a long time.

Mr. Coffee drip machine (18yrs old)
Horizon organic half + half to taste.
Mmm mornings never tasted so good 😊
Chock Full O Nuts in my cup
Black & Decker coffee maker (mounted in the same holes the previous owner put in the coach o'head cabinet)
Folger's Classic Roast and two heaping scoops, seven cups of water, and a "pinch" of salt for each cup--to eliminate the bitterness--try it, it works.
+2 on the pour over! (actually only me, since Nancy doesn't drink coffee).
Haven't drunk coffee for several years, only tea, then I got a Nespresso espresso maker. Now again addicted to coffee. I find as I get older, I need that caffeine more and more. Still like tea but not as much now.
I prefer Bacon with my coffee........... 8)
Why drink bitter coffee to start with?
Wally World camping percolator on the gas stove top for us. 😎👍
Anyone drink Chai tea, delish. I never thought about cost, everyone's life has value and that's priceless, enjoy every moment!!
Jura Capresso super automatic. Once you've had one you'll never have anything else.
+1 Jura S7
Anyone else roast their own beans?
Wife bought one 2 months ago.. makes me a cappuccino (I think it is) with the froth.. Cost me about $1,000 for the first cup... it has gone down per cup since ... think I am at $300.00 per cup as of now and it will be lower in the next few weeks/months
Great machine but she has told me twice how to get regular coffee from it.. turn this knob/ push that knob/ twist this knob.. what ever happened to just filling with water loading with coffee and pushing the button?
Still havnt done the coffee yet as I have slept since she explained it... Something I hate...telling people twice... hate it with a passion... something I hate MORE? Being told twice!!
Nespresso traveler. Small, easy to use and makes a great espresso cup!
Jura S7 in WA, Nesspresso in Chicago, boat and Coach, along with frother with each Nespresso.
Considering taking Nespresso out of coach in favor of smaller Jura. I am usually alone and drink of choice is a latte
Pour over direct into Yeti tumbler or French press for plus 16 ounces. Use paper filter on pour over for easy clean up. Use free trade organic coffee.
Guess I will have to break out my Briel Espresso machine! Nothing like a good cup of espresso in the mornings!
I've tried the pour overs & french press but have been won over by the AeroPress. Use it at least once a day.
Amazon.com: AeroPress Coffee and Espresso Maker - Makes 1-3 Cups of Delicious... (http://www.amazon.com/AeroPress-Coffee-Espresso-Maker-Bitterness/dp/B000GXZ2GS/)
I've also added this accessory. (I know it costs almost as much as the AeroPress but is worth it)
Amazon.com: Fellow Prismo, Pressure-Actuated Attachment for AeroPress Coffee... (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B079YBT2LJ/)
It replaces the strainer and creates a really nice crema that you don't get with the stock strainer.

Call me a heathen, never used chewing tobacco or snuff, but a pinch of fresh coffee grounds between the lip and gum works. Can't knock it till you have tried it. thank you Rodger on the Peet's decaf. suggestion some time ago, it's very good.
An evening cup of Peets decaf French Roast is a treat for me. Glad you like it.
Well there you go. I want to load coffee into a filter or insert a pod and press a button and have a cup of coffee. No encyclopedic pre-brew check lists for this simple guy.
Some of these new machines remind me of the old Yamaha motorcycle adverts from years ago. A professional is running a bike boot camp. A rider looks at the instructor and says. "Hey mister, I just wanna ride."
KISS, not sure if could stand to go thru all this trouble when i wake up. Sharp tastes or bold flavors are the spice of life. Horseradish coffee may jumpstart me in the morning, to go with hot pepper on the eggs.
KISS is good with me. And I always have Cayenne & Black pepper on hand. I hardly ever use salt and haven't for decades.
But if others like their complex coffee rituals. I say good on them. 'Each to their own' is the phrase of the day. ^.^d
KISS............. but worth the wait...........
Have a Jura Ena 1, fits nice in the bottom of the pullout cabinet. Yes a bit expensive, but we have 15 years and over 6000 cups in our Jura at home. So I think it works out, One button really great coffee.
We use a Behmor. Space age looking thing that mimics a Chemex without all the work. We also keep a Chemex on board as a back-up. We try to buy local coffee wherever we are, but also add in more readily available brands to help keep the cost down. Hands down, our favorite coffee is Katz Pecan Roast which is made in Texas... we didn't know about it when we lived in Texas!
Coffee is important to us. Not quite coffee snobs, but close. Whatever it costs... it's worth it!
http://www.roastmasters.com/behmor-connected.html
A Keurig with the K-cups is easiest for us when camping.
Any coffee and as much as you want is good when prescribed by Dr. Caffeine!
Our coffee is complicated...My bride loves things other people have..we use a standard Cuisinart drip deal at home...with Black Rifle coffee..(love the stuff). We buy it once a month on a program..comes in the mail. We have been on Keto diet for over two years..so we make bullet coffee every morning..Heavy whipping cream, Redmonds salt, Kerrigold grass fed butter and MCT oil and put it all in blender..yeah we do that. Addicted is probably a better term...but of course in the lap of luxury we call a Coach..we must have a Kuerig (sp)..because other cool kids have one...I prefer my dripper at home...but I do compromise for the mop pusher sometimes...
We use Nespresso, original line. I drink it addictively and it gets expensive. When we retire in 1 year, something's gotta give. Come to think of it, a cup of espresso would be good right now.
For you guys that drink coffee.............
A Harvard study done a few years ago showed that 4 - 5 cups a day of caffeinated or decaf coffee reduced the chances of getting prostate cancer by 40%. That's significant!
