Title: 2008 Nimbus Step retract issue
Post by: travelingsp on September 29, 2019, 12:48:02 pm
The step on my 2008 Nimbus will not retract when the ignition switch is on and the door is closed.  Where do I start trouble shooting the issue?  Is the system fused and if so where do I find the fuse?

Is your step air operated or electric? Too new a coach for me to know.

If you have the single air operated step like on mine, there are two air cylinders that move it in/out. And a small air solenoid setup near the passenger side of the generator under the coach. I would start at that solenoid bank and check all wires and air connections. The solenoid setup is for both the step cover and step.

This is an all-electric step system with 2 steps that come out.  (Not air operated.)

Tested the step switch and there is power to it.

If there are fuses, where are they?

Thanks.

The door open switch can cause the step to stay out even with ignition on.

A Kwikee step has in line fuses behind the panel in front of the passenger seat.  If they are good you'll have to look at the step motor.
