How do you slide the pocket door out.

The latch comes out when you push it in from top and you pull it.

The latch is pretty strong. Give it a good jerk.

But after 20 years the latch can break.  Had to change one this summer, thankfully the PO had a couple spares in the coach.

Lift up as you pull

You do need to pull harder as there is a stop that makes the door not open while driving. Ours still did open now and again so I put a simple strap around the top part of the door that is held by a simple push button. I also put a brass hook on the bedroom door too.
No more sudden sliding doors going around corners

My '03 has a adjustment to the latching mechanism (when door is in the pocket) that allows me to dial in the tension.
