Title: Recessed light covers 1996 U280
Post by: Rocky1down on October 10, 2019, 09:04:37 am
I have several burned out bulbs in the bedroom of my 1996 U280.
They are recessed lights.
How do you remove the cover to replace the bulb?
Thanks,
Susan

If you are referring to the puck lights with the gold ring, push up and turn counter clockwise on the ring.

To make the removal of the brass ring easier, use a piece of grip liner that is rubber and can be cut to fit.  Sold at any DIY store.
Below is what we replaced all of our puck lights with.  All LED's and upgraded the old style look of the brass.

Mine required gentle use of channel lock pliers on a couple of our coaches.

You might need to pry it off with a screwdriver if nothing else works. Its attached with 3 small wood screws.
Pushing up on the cover while turning it might work too.
I am in the middle of changing out all the old LED bulbs for M4 bulbs, but previously took the covers off to paint them a oil bronze. Most came off easily, but some were quite difficult. If you do have to pry it off, just re screw them in a different place 1/3 rotation.
