Have read in the forum of stripes needed and met one owner in NAG who needed replacement pieces of stripe on his U295.
Found where all Foretravels stock went. There are full stripe kits and replacement pieces for the U270/295 &320 as well as the GV's.
They are in a storage and available from Robert McGrath 936-554-9900 (leave a message, it's his cell phone) he worked for Fortravel for about twenty years.
Much cheaper option than painted striping.
Be aware this stuff wasn't stored in climate controlled conditions. Most of the adhesive has degraded. I recall some folks have bought the stripes only to have major issues with them and had to redo in paint.
McGrath owned Encore RV, which bought all of FT's old, old stock. It sat in trailers in the Texas heat for years. Encore went out of business years ago and none of the stock was every inventoried, even when it was an active business. A search of the forum will show the issues folks had with these old, old stripes (plus a source for getting new ones produced that will perform much better).
That's what I love about this forum, so much information, thanks Michelle
I have experienced the process of removing vinyl stripes and our motorhome will never again have vinyl applied to it. Many people compliment the monochrome white gelcoat appearance and if/when additional colors are applied it/they will be paint. Vinyl is NOT a good long-term solution.
If they want stripes check out RV Stripes and Graphics in Alamo Junction AZ. They have a number of Foretravel designs in their computer. Had ours done there almost four years ago and have enjoyed the results. I have no idea what the old formulations were for production but the current 3M product seems to be excellent. Removal and install about 3k for the entire original design.
We had the custom turtle in the icon done as well. Not everyone's cup of tea but we enjoy it.
We had RV Stripes do ours six years ago, did a nice job with the 3M system. However, this last couple of years, the nose has started to show brown spots and the side to the sun is wearing. No stripes seem to last in the full sun we have full time in Arizona, whatever wax/sealer is used, and I've tried them all!
