We are upgrading our bedroom TV (old 15inch) to a newer smart TV. When removing the TV, I disconnected the cables and noticed this was a DC TV. The rear panel on the TV says 16V, (see pic) so I know there is a 120VAC/DC Power transformer in there somewhere, I just can't locate it.
.
We've taken out the small dresser drawers, removed items from the adjoining closer, and still, don't see an access panel or other way to get to this? I know the cables are headed near the ceiling somewhere. Any ideas? or should I just search for a TV that can accept the 16V from the current Transformer hidden in the coach somewhere?.
On the closet wall behind the TV take off the panel. All my electronics were there including the ir repeater.
Thanks, Iooked again, and don't see a way this panel is removable, without severely damaging the wood?
I had to remove the clothes rod and found screws holding the panel in. I will go take another look right now.
Just looked, had to remove one horizontal strip and the rod and the panel. The different years and models make comparisons difficult, but that was the way mine was built. My access was in the closet.
I think there are a couple of screws up high and at corners of the cedar panel as well.
In my 1997 access is from the closet.
My 99 295 is thru the closet wall.
Not on my closet which is cedar lined. My coach already had the old TV removed and a smart TV installed. The inside of where the TV was there is two separate 120 volt outlets. There's also an IR repeater and a black box that has various wires including 12 volt plus and ground. You should be able to get in by taking off numerous screws and that will get you access to that area. You'll have to take the TV down of course. A picture would be nice so we can see if you have what we have.
Bob, if that black box you are talking about has 4 wires and one is marked radio-- it is a relay that one of the functions I think is water pump but not sure but it is a relay!

Under the false closet floor
In my 2000u320 there was a bar that I removed very small screws in the cedar lined wall everything was back there including a lot of unused space I put hinges on false panel put a price of wood in there for a base to use the space
Update: I finally figured out the access panel, it was in the closet as stated above, just needed to find a way to get it out without destroying the wood.
I located with power brick from the old TV, it was plugged into a 120V plug against the wall. Since my new 22 Inch TV had a direct power connection (No Brick) I needed a way to get power. My solution was to use a cut in box and wire a new outlet to the existing box in the chase cavity.
For the mounting, I had several ideas with would require building a new cherry mounting at an angle, and even though I have access to all the tools to do it right, I decided to install the TV on self-closing Drawer slides mounted to the wall just above the drawers. This allows me to extend the TV to a bettter viewing location close to the center of the bed, and then slide it in towards the wall after viewing and for driving. The friction of the self-closing slide has enough hold to keep it in place.
I still need to build a small shelve to put my Apple TV on, but we're happy the way it came out.
Thanks for all your help in finding the chase!
