Title: Air Dryer
Post by: jor on January 12, 2020, 05:42:41 pm
How often is everybody changing or rebuilding their air dryers? Mine (Haldex DA 30100X) was new (OEM rebuild) 2 1/2 years ago and 15,000 miles. Also, where are you buying the OEM rebuilds? I remember last time I changed one out the rebuild kit wasn't that far off the reman price. Thanks.

3 years or when anything but clean, dry air comes out the wet tank drain.

Yes, high mile and/or very humid conditions will likely call for earlier replacement/reman.

Desert SW where you are and no really high mileage-- 3 years is fine.

We alternated roughly every 18-24 months, rebuild then the next time NAPA-purchased full reman unit.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Just bought a complete reman Haldex at Napa. $400 less $100 for core.
Still hate that orange thread sealer Foretravel uses, sometimes it acts like 2 part epoxy.

Where would I find the wet tank drain for your/our  Bendix Air Dryer? I have no files that indicate it was EVER serviced after you did it in 2010!

Please don't mock the afflicted, Michelle. :)  It's just one of many things I'm still learning about 'Rebecca'.  ^.^d

Except I quit drinking five months ago after a life-threatening illness I'm recovering from; the beer would be pretty flat!  We are thinking of selling the coach and getting a Airstream trailer to live in. I hate the idea of Rebecca not doing the cruising she was restored and made to do!  Airstream 34' Excella VINTAGE Travel Trailer - TCRV (http://tcrv.com/unit-gallery/airstream-34-excella-vintage-travel-trailer/)

Not to re-steal, but I belonged to it years ago, and have re-joined; it's a lot like this Forum; bunch of nutcases that love their coaches!  ^.^d

So we are nut cases now?  Well, maybe some of us. At least a little. I do love my coach anyway.

Sorry to hear about the health issue. Seems to be going around the forum. :( Hope you're feeling better and sorry to hear you are planning to leave the Foretravel cult.

We will probably be coming thru Aho after Quartzite. If we have time may try and get a night in your park. We'll be in touch as we get closer.

Tell Judy Hi!

see ya

I've given up on the likes, I also have to go to Safari to post pics; no likes on Safari either. Life is not easy on the web!
