I have been updating my coach slowly for a while now. Most recent is the table light by the recliner. I replaced the original one with one that has LED, USB charger and a wireless phone charger made into the existing wood mount. The wireless is between the lighted blue switch and the USB port on the top. Just lay the phone down on it and it charging. Trying to keep the look and feel original, but making more useful. Also replaced the lamps in the bedroom with LED fixture with built in USB charger in each. So much better than running a cable to the 115v plugs at the foot of the bed!
Love it!!!
I love it. My DW needs the wireless charging option so I'm curious what parts you used, I think the upgrade would match our GV decor.
DW? I assume the lamp fixture up front. I purchased a lamp from amazon with the wireless and USB charger in it($~70 used $120 new) Then I gutted it and recycled it's parts. Also purchased a 12vdc to 5vdc ($9.00)power supply to power it. Removed the 115vac to 5vdc existing supply. Added switch $7. Then remove the 115v lamp for 2 led lamps & socks. The replacement adapter for the lamp I made on a lathe. Purchased a walnut board for the bottom. I have a cnc router that I made and used to pocket both pieces and cut the the bottom added walnut board. As you can tell it was not a minor undertaking. But I can repeat the wood easy. It helps that I am an engineer.
How thick is the wood above the wireless charger?
My Tahoe has wireless charging but my phone is too big to sit in the recess. My wife's will charge but she has to set it just right to get it to charge.
Nice job!!! Seems I have cords everywhere.
The wood I think is about .2 inches if I remember. If needed, I can check my cnc file to verify. Plenty thick not to crack or break.
