Title: ShadePro - Day/Night Shades
Post by: Vossx2 on January 20, 2020, 07:16:33 pm
Has anyone installed ShadePro day/night shades? If so, are you happy with them?
Ready to update, but am unable to find any reviews for their product.

We did MCD shades a few years ago, installed them ourselves and have been very happy with them. When you want to raise a non-motorized shade you just pull it down a bit and let go. It goes up slowly by itself and stops at the right place.  It looks like these are maybe just roller shades.  Let em go and flap flap flap? These are probably less money.

If I was doing it again I would use motorized night shades in the bedroom where we have window sills.  Day shades can be manual.  The motorized shade gives you a more precise control of the down stop point.

We have Slow Rise by Erving Shade and Door window shades. Likely the same thing. Not a big issue to install them. Been great for 5 years now. I personally don't think there is any difference in the actual operating mechanism in any of them.

I have MCD shades as well, and agree with Roger on the motorized ones. I have the motorized one for the front window only. Wish I had them for most or all.
Thinking of adding a cellular shade in front for light filtering during the day and using the MCD for light blocking during the night or during a movie. With my Valances down now might be the time to do it.

I have Shade Pro. Easy to install, work great. Also way cheaper than MCD. Shade Pro advertises that their mechanisms are metal as opposed to plastic in MCD. In fact, I also have 2 MCD's also and like the Shade Pro better.

I had them installed last year at Quartzsite throughout the coach and I am very pleased with them.

We also had the Shade Pro shades installed last year shortly after BarnDog had his done. They are working fine and after sampling some of the shades from MCD at the FMCA ( Indio ) event,, I would say ours work every bit as good and just maybe a millimeter better.
The installation of the shade pro shades however ,maybe less than perfect.  They ( S.P. ) had to make some slight modifications in the valances and I later ended up re modifying some of the work. So there's that.

Bottom line , I'd do it again.

Quick question... do the stay against the window pretty well? We are redoing our valences and would like to do away with the sides.

Found their website, but see no cost info. Do you know if the are around the cost of MCD or more along the lines of ShadePro?

Shade Pro had a special going on, not sure for how long, but all shades, no matter the size  were listed at $179 a set.  We had Erving in our fifth wheel and like them, but have also had MCO and thought they were better!  I getting ready to order the Shade Pro shades.  Hope this helps!

I don't have side valances. They work well.

Regarding the side valances, we have a rear window that was factory installed but without side valances.      The shade pro blinds work fine on that window,, but there will be some light getting through around the blinds on the sides.
I will be keeping the side valances but upgrading them.
