Set up my toad. I dumped the Honda Element and have been looking for a Lexus GX470 but that didn't work out so I set up one of my two Foresters instead (still looking for the right GX). Anyhow, I added a 2" receiver for the bikes, baseplate, tow lights and ReadyBrake. All set now.
And now for a contest. I had to protect the radiator when I was drilling a couple of holes for the baseplate. I used a piece of metal from my junk box. It's a Foretravel part. Free trip to Disneyland to the first that can identify this part.

Looks like a heavy shim of some kind...but no idea where it would be used. Somewhere in the chassis or suspension?
Torsilastic suspension ride height shim.
Used on U225 and U240's.
Shim.
Have a box full at work....... Sorry for the offensive language
Damn. You boys are good. It is indeed a shim for the early Foretravel torsilastic suspension. Matter of fact, it was the last one out of our 93. Probably lots of shimless Foretravels plying our nations's highways.

Enjoy yourself at Disneyland Brett....... :)) :)) :))
Lived in that area back in the early 80s. Might be time to head back down. See you there!

Jor, I take it your Forester is a manual trans model? And are you going to stop by Justin's after the Q bunch pulls into port here?
Actually I have two Foresters. Same color. Really quite confusing. It is indeed a manual. I like them because they are so easy. Just put it in neutral. This is my third Suby toad.
