Title: Mirror Flops forward
Post by: That Irish Girl on February 11, 2020, 01:35:07 pm
Need help. My passenger side mirror flops forward and I can't figure out how to tighten it up. The inside controls work intermittently, but I can deal with that later.  Right now I need to figure out how to get the whole mirror to stand up. What sort of bit do I need to tighten the screws? Can anyone help me? 1995 U320

Look for an allen screw to tighten the ball up.

look under the mirror arm for the allen screw. You will need an allen wrench to tighten it.

Use a long Allen wrench for leverage.

And, you may need to remove the screws, clean the threads and retorque.  I have seen them seized in the threads, so they felt like it is tight, but were actually putting very little "holding force" on the mirror.

Yes,

Tighten allen screws on the "ball" end.  Use a socket wrench under the arm for other adjustments.
