Title: Gasket on hydraulic resevoir and lid help
Post by: dans96u295ft on April 04, 2020, 04:35:13 pm
Dang. All went very well. Drained the old fluid, removed 3 filters, wiped reservoir clean, placed 3 new filters, filled with 16 quarts of fresh 15-40 Delo, smiling and now I can't get the clamp and new gasket to sit in the clamp channel to tighten the bolts. It slips up or down on the canister lip. I assume it has to be on the 2 lips, not under or over the lips??? I'm stumped. Been farting with it for an hour.
HELP

When assembled, the two banjo pieces have a side profile of a "U".  One part goes below the lip on the reservoir, the other above the lip on the lid.

Have one bolt very loosely holding the two pieces together.  Carefully place the first piece above and below, then align the second piece and install its bolt.

Before tightening kind of rotate the banjo pieces to make sure you have it "above and below".

Perhaps if you took the two halves of the clamp ring apart like I did the first time there is a right way and the other way to reassemble them.  I did it the other way at first and couldn't figure out why it didn't seal up very well. Look to see if they are fitting together so the bolts will tighten the two halves together.

Like a nut job. I took pictures as I disassembled it and then didn't look at where the gasket goes. It was easy when you place it on the main canister before you put the lid on. Sorry guys. My error
