Any have folding stove cover they no longer need? Some dummy shut the cover with one of the burners on low low oops🤬
Foretravel referred to the Corian covers as "serving trays."
You got lucky. Corian IS flammable. It used to be partially oil.
The metal may have saved you....
Customers scoffed at that idea so I would take a scrap piece and hold a torch on it then remove the torch and the piece would continue to burn.
They got the message
You could give David Flanagan a call tomorrow and see if he has a left over piece from some renovation work that may fit.
Glad no one got hurt!
Good luck,
Oscar
Yep we did get lucky, my wife heard a little poping sound. I went back and smelled it had a drying mat and dish drainer sitting on it. Thanks Oscar I'll give David a call in the am.
Bruce, I have a round white FT corian table, not the same color but ... that might be hard to find a match.
Thanks Roger, my cousin in Fla might still have a piece where we cut the dining table down.
Bruce I have one you could have. But shipping it would be expensive..
FedEx takes most anything on which you can slap a label. Two pieces of cardboard to protect the faces and some fiberglass reenforced tape?
My motorcycle tires arrive with a label stuck to the spiral wrapped tire.
Bruce,
You can make a new one out of butcher block material.

I have shipped engines and parts with Fastenal for reasonable prices;

Bruce, a wood replacement would look nice.
I made a sink cover for Dixie Flyer a few years back. His pictures got lost.

In addition to wood, a decorative decal over discolored spot or a full paint with a complementary color to add a bit of splash to the kitchen counter.
We had one made out of a thick butcher block and it worked out well.

Corian is very brittle. No way would I ever ship something like that. The way they throw things around in the shipping industry it would be broken by the time I got there. That's how I got the old countertops off. I used a 2-lb mini-sledge. First hit and it fractured.
Corian is not a motorcycle tire.
Hey Bob and Julie I sent you a pm
I sent my Corian cooktop to Dave at Foretravel both ways through UPS. Well packed. No problems well packed
$1000.00 worth of insurance should take care of it.
Bruce give Pete a call they had one made that is real nice . He had it made on Phoenix.
The town your in just might fix you up. I just had a nice new "serving tray" built for $125. Right here local, I did a google search. My old one was broke when we got the coach. It really broke falling while racing a prevost up lookout pass on the MT/ID state line. :)
Just to stop the thread I guess. I have a cover and Bruce and I have come to an understanding. When I get time I'll ship it out and he will pay the shipping. Since I'm replacing my countertops I have no need for it. But you all came up with some really good ideas.
I will ship FedEx 😊
Thanks for all the replies, as always the froum comes through. As Bob said if shipping doesn't cost to much we'll get it done.
Rodger, You're skill set is just too high..LOL
You sure do beautiful work...
Safe Travels
Dave
Thanks Dave,
Every project is an opportunity to learn and improve skills. Just like our Foretravel projects.
Glad to help out on this one.
