Title: Generator battery and over heat
Post by: dans96u295ft on April 18, 2020, 10:41:29 am
I assume the Kobota generator ( 10k ) 4 cylinder starts from the house batteries? And if it overheats is there an auto shutdown or light shows up on the dash?
Thanks

You are correct about the batteries and there being a shut down for overheat.  The light will be on the panel on the generator I believe.  Be sure the electric fan is running to cool the radiator.

My 8KW starts from house and auto shuts down with over heat. It has successfully shut down on its own several times. You will get an indication at the dash, but the explanation will be at the generator control box depending on the trouble light that is illuminated. I'm grateful mine shut down with a loose fan belt and again with leaking radiator.

My control box is next to the squirrel  fan under the driver's seat. Very hard to see the lights. as it is sideways. But space is tight there.

This is what I use.  Genturi (https://tinyurl.com/y8g87rn4)  Works great.
