What satelite TV providers do you use?
We have a winegard Duradat D4.
We are looking at dish or direct TV.

Your choice is the best of 2 evils.
We have Directv, but Dish is much better for RV's.
Big issue is, with that Winegard, you will not be able to receive HD TV with DTV. You'll get your programming, it just won't be HD
With Dishnet you can with a dome dish
The local networks are a big issue. Dish has answers for that.

DISH has been great for us, simply call them when not using it or change locations!
I agree with you Mike, but the Tail Gater doesn't work as good as the Winegard. The handle has to be pointed north, and in a permanent install that is an issue. They don't rotate 380+degree's inside, less then 360 degree's. No problem in a portable situation.
I also believe the Winegard performs better in the NW. Not putting them down, I know people like them.

You don't need to call them. Just use the My Dish App and you can instantly do everything there.

We have had them all and settled on Dish Network. I installed a Wineguard Traveler Dish, which receives all channels in HD, had the locals when I call the new zip code in and I run a Hopper 3 as well, so can tape 100's of shows. Wife is happy with her Hallmark channels! No issues in the install, pretty easy to do if you are handy. Took all of about 1 hour and saved big bucks! Push a button and the dish raises and searches and locks in. I would recommend if you go this route, to install the dish on the front area as normally, when you park under trees, the front of the coach will clear the obstructions and get a signal. Hope this helps!
We went with dish (Hopper) but use the RF Mogul on roof hardware. It was a little more expensive than the Wineguard but the hardware is heavier duty than Wineguard. Mogul dish is also about 10% bigger then the Wineguard.
They have incredible service. About a year after install the skew stopped working. Called and talked to Royce. He wanted to take a look at it and was headed for Quartzite and so was I. Called him when I got there and he drove down the Foretravel campsite to meet me. We climbed on the roof and he proceeded to dismantle the entire assembly. Educating me on what everything did as he proceeded. Found that the skew motor had moisture intrusion. He had never seen that before and asked if he could change out the dish at no cost. He wanted to take this one back to his lab. Turns out he was head of quality control. I agreed and he put it mostly back together and lifted it on his shoulder and carried it down my RV ladder! He came back with a new Mogul and again put it on his shoulder and climbed up on the RV and installed it! Has worked great ever since and that was about 5 years ago.
There have been a couple of issues where Dish has updated their satellites but was easily fixable with new firmware. All I had to do was download the firmware on to a USB memory stick plug it in and power cycle the controller.
The Dish app on iPhone works well. Takes about a minute to update local channels. Only issue is it usually takes overnight for guide to completely update. I think that happens on all the systems out there.

When I got the coach about a year ago, it was setup with a Winegard for Direct TV. Because we had Direct TV at home I decided not to make any changes. Just pull the receivers out of the house and put them in the coach. Works fine.
When the Winegard dies, I will likely look an RF Mogul unit along with Dish TV. Most reports I have seen is that Dish TV is more RV friendly.
