It's finally happening, we're getting some cracking in the passenger seat and we're were looking for replacements. We have the super sized Flexsteel seats about 24" wide on the seat back and about 27" wide on the seat cushion. Does anyone have recommendation for a replacement seat a bit less wide, or at a last resort keeping the same width seats. I've searched a few salvage yards but the ones we located were pretty much worse than what we have.
Thanks, Paul
Go to Puerto Penasco for the repair? See thread: Puerto Penasco full body paint and upholstery recover (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=38738.msg378474#msg378474)
Just got my seats in from Villa international. Very pricey but very nice. took about a month and a half of them to build them. $6,000. Course that is with massage on the passenger chair as well as heat, and heat on the driver's chair. Of course they both have rotating bases.
If my chairs weren't too totally different chairs for a really wide butts, I probably would have had them just recovered in Mexico, but they were different chairs and I didn't really like that. also I figured after 20 years to coach deserve new captain's chairs. I wish they would have built them with integrated seat belts but they refused to do it because they did not come from the factory like that. I have yet to install them, cuz I have to drill new holes. But they are in the coach and they look great. I used to distress ultra leather, and they matched my ultra leather that I redid the interior with for the seating that look really great.
I know some folks have been to Mexico and have had good experiences, but just don't travel to Mexico except for Dental.
Note: I just heard today that Flexsteel is out of the RV Business, so that's out, still looking!
I've actually been to Villa in Elkhart area for some warranty work on a Airstream we had. Good folks! $6K is a bit too much. I may just snag some Flexsteel chairs while there are still in the RV Business.
