I pull my hose out today and noticed it didn't come out as freely as I had remembered, and was very sluggish retracting, so much so I didn't fully retract it. I pulled the reel out, disassembled and found one of the two spool bearing bad and the other is marginal from rust. The bearing # 1630-2RS seems to be very common online, less than $10. Going to try Napa in the morning. I will replace the orings too. I didn't see much about this on the forum. Anything else I should look at or be concerned about?
I would want to be sure that the seal around the sliding water connection is not leaking. Any evidence of water below the reel? A fresh water leak inside the compartment, I am convinced, is why I had to spend the first two years of coach ownership repairing the rear bulkhead joint and the last four feet of basement floor structure. As a cautionary tale about why you want to avoid water leaks into the basement structure (my story is one of many...), you might want to read about my bulkhead/basement rebuild.
