Title: Re anyone help identify this part
Post by: kevo0000 on May 08, 2020, 03:56:54 pm
Here I have taken a photo of this part, it is attached to the engine on my 8.2ltr detroit, actually it is attached to the cylinder he'd it has two wires one obviously earth, and other must be live when ign on, I think it is obviously some kind of electronic sensor, but for what, would it be an engine temperature sensor, as an extra source of a warning of overheating, other than the water temperature sensors, anyone help thanks kev

I have something that looks like that on my thermostat housing and I think it is a temperature sensor.

Yeah I think your right, it's prob an engine temperature sender as apposed to water coolant temperature, also I have two thermostats under thermostat housing and a sender unit either side,  why two, is that temperature of water going in one side and temperature coming out the other, thanks kev
