I would like to find someone to do a prebuy inspection on a Foretravel at motor homes of Texas.
Thanks
Talk to Keith Risch he works at MOT and does inspections after hours. Keith is a good guy, very knowledgeable on FTs.
Someone else that will go to Nac to inspect on the forum is Brett Wolfe (wolfe 10).
Just my two cents
Brett did my inspection. 110% worth it. Take a notebook and pen.
I don't think Brett inspects slides or Aquahot. I would feel good about Keith. MOT wants the customers to have their eyes wide open when they buy a coach because the want you back for the next one. The salesman aren't charged with inspection because they are salesmen but they don't mind Keith going over them.
If I had a choice in this situation would get Brett, don't know Keith but sounds unkoscher to have an employee of the dealer selling the coach being paid to tell you the coach is ok,if he finds alot of things needed to be fixed how happy will Mot be with him.
If they ran Keith off there would be a revolt
Understand but if it were me Brett is not that far and has no interest in MOT.
I have Brett's former coach. Believe me, HE is the one to do a inspection! ^.^d
Guys,
Have already replied to Cictom's PM to me.
With the high incident of COVID 19 in our metro area (over 10,000) we are staying put-- I am being "home schooled-- just ask Dianne.
As others have said, I suggested Keith Risch for the inspection. I KNOW it sounds like a conflict of interest since he works for MOT, but I can assure you from working with Keith for more than a decade, he is an absolute straight shooter.
Keith Risch is a good guy who knows more about Foretravel than I ever will. He has always been a straight shooter and had him work on my coach the past 12 years. You won't go wrong with Keith. ^.^d
I had Keith inspect mine. Vey good and reasonable. Brett would also be my choice. I know vehicles pretty well. Second set of eyes well woth it.
Keith
Keith did two for me, I walked away after not getting to a good negotiating point, and snapped on the second one he inspected. I'm a skeptic, but I watched Keith do the inspection off site and I'm sure he can be objective!
I do know, I would not buy a Foretravel without an inspection... I learned from experiance.. But all the the things I fixed will probably last longer than I will... INSPECTIONS for a non Froretravel owner are a necessary evil... John told me read the book twice before you move it ... he was right.
This is not badmouthing Foretravels I love mine, but they are a different breed of cat !

Purchased mine from MOT and their staff went over everything after I arrived. They have a whole inspection criteria and yes a few things were caught and repaired or I was aware of the issue before purchase. I came from California to pick mine up so going into it I could back out though traveled a ways and found MOT was very up front with their inspections and provided information. I even witness them completely redoing a Country Coach that had a water leak while the customer took delivery and MOT removed the slide and corrected damage caused by the leak. I would just plan to spend a couple days in the coach on property during the delivery process so you can possibly catch anything. As written above they want your repeat business.
I don't see where anyone has mentioned Nacogdoches Motorhome Service, they have performed excellent repair and service work for me and I would not hesitate to recommend them for a pre buy inspection. I have no affiliation with Nacogdoches Motorhome Service just a satisfied customer with their work.
Go with Risch but I am not sure if he still has arrangement to do. Plus IF you are getting a coach from MOT they have a relatively new checklist done by Delivery, many have said it good
However I would add in a non checklist Risch inspection and insist on it.
I see and agree Keith Risch is the go to guy for pre-inspection purchase. But no where do I see reference on how to contact him for a pre-buy inspection. Any information available beside just calling MOT?
Yes, you can set up an inspection by Keith through the MOT Service Department. May also be able to do it through your salesperson.
Thanks Brett
